Introduction

Health Care is a Life Issue for women because we are the primary caregivers for our families and ourselves, especially when it comes to children and the elderly.

All families, no matter how much money they have, have identical health risks. Anything can happen to any one of us. In the United States, however, access to effective health care is often restricted by the jobs we hold, the money we have, and the insurance we can afford.

It is government that decides on a baseline of fairness for support of everyone's health, sets the rules for delivery of good care, and uses tax dollars to provide health insurance for some people.

Women need to put our expertise in care giving into action in government. We need to know what the current system is, monitor the debate within and between the political parties, and decide what we wish to support.

Inform yourself, talk to others online, and take action all from WomenMatter.
